Nice Haircut
After dropping my son off at school
one morning, I stopped at a local coffee house. I had just finished
my eight chemo treatments for stage II breast cancer and my hair was
starting to grow back.
For the first time in months, I
felt confident enough to go hatless. An
older man stared at me and sarcastically commented, "Nice
haircut."
I replied, "Thanks, but it's
not a haircut, it's chemo hair."
He looked stunned. Then he offered,
"Well, one of my friends had chemo and he didn't lose his
hair."
My reply, " Well, obviously,
your friend didn't get the good stuff. Because if you get the really
good, industrial strength chemo your hair falls out completely. That
shows it's really working."
